Fiji has claimed the top spot as the number one island in Australia and the South Pacific, as voted by readers of Condé Nast Traveler in the 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Tourism Fiji, in a statement, says this marks the third consecutive year that Fiji has received this honour, a powerful testament to the islands’ natural beauty, warm hospitality and world-class experiences.

In addition to the country’s overall win, eight Fijian resorts were recognised among the best resorts in Australia and the South Pacific.

Kokomo Private Island Resort is ranked 5th, Namale Resort and Spa – ranked is 9th, Shangri-La Yanuca Island Fiji is ranked 11th, Tokoriki Island Resort is ranked 12th, Royal Davui Island Resort is ranked 13th, Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort is ranked 14th, COMO Laucala Island is ranked 17th and VOMO Island Resort is ranked 18th.

Tourism Fiji says these accolades highlight Fiji’s continued excellence in luxury tourism and reinforce its reputation as a premier destination for travellers seeking authentic and unforgettable island experiences.

Acting CEO of Tourism Fiji, Robert Thompson says being named the best island again is incredibly gratifying and this honour belongs to every Fijian, the tourism partners, communities, land and spirit of the nation.

Thompson adds that having eight Fijian resorts recognised reinforces the country’s strength in providing authentic, immersive and heartfelt experiences that are worn with pride and shared with the world.

He further says that as Fiji continues to grow as a world-leading destination, these recognitions reaffirm its place on the global tourism map and not only for its beaches and luxury offerings but also for the Bula spirit that touches every guest who visits.
