Police say raids continue to be conducted on inter-island vessels in a bid to curb the transportation of illicit drugs from maritime islands.

Another raid was conducted yesterday in a vessel berthed at the Narain Jetty which resulted in the seizure of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

The died leaves which were wrapped in plastic was found inside a carton used for rubbish.

Police say the support of shipping company operators has also been great and vital to the success of these raids.

The joint operations was conducted by officers from Totogo, K9 team with Fiji Revenue and Customs Officials, Drugs and WATERPOL.

Police say snap raids will be conducted on a regular basis.
