Court remands man charged for his alleged involvement in violent Raiwai attack

A 20-year-old man who is charged for his alleged involvement in the violent attack in Raiwai on Sunday has been remanded by the Suva Magistrates Court.

Mosese Bera is charged with one count of malicious act and one count of breach of bail condition.

The matter has been adjourned to the 31st of August.

2 men other men have also been produced in court and remanded for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Tomasi Qalibau and Veleki Totogo who are aged 19, appeared in court on Tuesday after being jointly charged with one count of malicious act and separately charged with a count each of serious assault and breach of bail condition.

Qalibau has also been charged with another count of criminal intimidation.

He allegedly threatened a police constable by lifting a cane knife against him and caused alarm.

The matter has been adjourned to the 30th of August and they have been ordered to make formal bail applications.
