Construction of WG Friendship Plaza is slow as most of their engineers are still in China - SCC

Construction work on WG Friendship Plaza along McGregor Road in Suva is slow as most of their engineers are still in China.

Suva City Council Special Administrator and Chairman, Isikeli Tikoduadua says once the borders open up, there will be faster progress.

Tikoduadua says light construction works are underway and they are required to work with the National Fire Authority concerning fire safety.

He says there is no stop works order in place for WG Plaza at the moment.

WG Friendship Plaza is a 28 storey luxury hotel and convention centre.

It is expected to have an inventory of over 300 rooms, observatory tower, boutique shopping, healthcare and entertainment complexes. Construction on the project started in 2016.
