Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says the late Joketani Cokanasiga clearly showed his good nature by solving differences and creating unity as the Minister for Defence during one of the toughest and trying times in our country.

While delivering a moving eulogy at the late Joketani Cokanasiga’s funeral service, Bainimarama says Cokanasiga was a humble man who had a lot of respect for the people and his colleagues.

Bainimarama says Cokanasiga had good nature combined with good education and depicted how a leader in government, a father and an elder of the vanua should act.

Bainimarama further says Cokanasiga used his good nature and knowledge to build a better life for his people which led them to choose him as their representative for 14 years as Government Minister.

The late Joketani Cokanasiga was laid to rest in his village of Sauniveiuto in Deuba, Serua and is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.

President Jioji Konrote was also present at the funeral service, as well as the Speaker of Parliament Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, Government Ministers and members of the disciplined forces.
