The fact that Nadi has not won the Inter-District Championship for the last 18 years has put pressure on the current team to deliver for their fans.

Coach, Kamal Swamy says he always talks about this with his players and the players have realised that a win will bring a lot of joy for the Nadi residents.

Nadi played three consecutive IDC finals from 2013 to 2015 and lost all.

Swamy says this is still haunting him.

With Avinesh Suwamy ruled out due to an injury, top players like Rahul Krishna and Vereti Dickson are making a comeback for Nadi and will play instrumental roles in midfield and goalkeeping.

Nadi last won the IDC in 2002 at Govind Park when the side beat Rewa in penalties. Ponipate Naulu scored the winning penalty.

Nadi will face Ba at 4.30pm next Tuesday in its opening match of the Courts IDC at the ANZ Stadium.
