 16 schools in North to receive new furniture

16 schools in the Northern Division severely affected by Tropical Cyclone Ana will receive more than 200 desks, chairs and other furniture.

It has been donated by the Punjas Charitable Trust which is the charitable arm of Punjas & Sons Pte Ltd.

While receiving the donation, Education Minister, Rosy Akbar says the donation was timely and it could not have come at a much better time.

She says in addition to the furniture donated by the Trust, the ministry will procure another 250.

Punjas & Sons Pte Ltd’s Manager Operations, Nandu Naidu has thanked the two schools in Auckland who have donated the furniture pieces to the Trust who then shipped the items to Suva.
