O'Connor lays out targetted capital projects for the Health Ministry in the next financial year
Assistant Minister for Health Alex O'Connor.

Assistant Minister for Health Alex O'Connor says he would like to personally see the living conditions, workspaces and stations of Ministry of Health staff serving in the rural and maritime facilities together with their families just as comfortable and stress free as those working in the main islands and urban and peri-urban areas.

While responding to the 2021-2022 National Budget address, O'Connor says with the massive increase in their budget, the Ministry of Health and Medical Services is well placed to see the recommencement of the long-awaited CWM Hospital Maternity Unit extension, the interior upgrade of the Labasa Hospital, refurbishment of Saint Giles Hospital and the Emergency Department at the CWM Hospital, land stabilisation and refurbishment at Savusavu Hospital and the upgrade of the Lautoka Hospital Operating Theatre and X-Ray Department.

O'Connor says he is not one who expresses openly the invaluable services of their task force from the commencement of Operation COVID-19 in March last year but he can honestly say that he silently remembers each and everyone of our frontliners in his daily devotions.
