Suva held to 2-2 draw by Nasinu

Suva held to 2-2 draw by Nasinu
Hosts Kells Investment/Global Care Suva failed to secure a win after being held to a 2-2 draw by Nasinu at the HFC Bank Stadium this afternoon.

Suva took the lead in the 38th minute through Gagame Feni and went into the half-time break leading 1-0.

Nasinu came out strongly in the second half and found the equaliser before Suva responded to regain the lead at 2-1.

However, Nasinu continued to put pressure on the Suva defence and were rewarded when a Suva defender scored an own goal to level the scores at 2-2.

Neither side was able to find the winner before the final whistle.

Suva coach Pita Rabo says it was a tough match and Nasinu proved to be a strong opponent.

Rabo says their plan was to beat Nasinu by a big margin, but they were unable to achieve that.

He thanked his players for their performance and says tomorrow's match against defending champions Rewa will be crucial for their semi-final hopes.

Rabo says Rewa is a very good team and the match could decide whether Suva progresses to the semi-finals.

In another match, Khelvin Realtors Lautoka secured three crucial points after defeating Pacific Heavy Industries Nadi 5-2.

Meanwhile, Dayals Steel Ba is currently taking on Vantex Solutions Navua.

In the final match of the day, Extra Supermarket Labasa will face defending champions Stratum/Lincoln Rewa at 7.30pm.
