Rewa thrashes Labasa 3–0 to strengthen semifinal race

Defending champions, Stratum/Lincoln Rewa has defeated Extra Supermarket Labasa 3–0 in a thrilling FMF Inter-District Championship encounter at HFC Bank Stadium.

Both teams started the match at scoring opportunities.

Rewa and Labasa controlled the game well in the first half, but neither side could find the back of the net.

Rewa stepped up the pressure in the second half, with Josaia Sela finally breaking the deadlock to give Rewa the lead.

Merrill Nand then scored two goals to put Rewa 3–0 ahead.

The three-goal advantage gave Rewa confidence as they took greater control of the match.

Labasa had opportunities to get back into the game, but striker Christopher Wasasala missed two golden chances.

Rewa assistant coach Priyant Manu says it was a tough game.

He says the players had a clear plan and remained committed to it throughout the match.
