Former Saint Thomas High School student and former England international loose forward, Nathan Hughes is set to make his debut for the FIJI Water Flying Fijians after being named in the starting XV to face France in the 2026 Nations Championship.
Hughes, who previously represented England at international level, has been handed the number 8 jersey as Fiji prepare to face France at Groupama Stadium in Lyon.
His inclusion adds significant experience, power and physicality to a formidable Fijian forward pack that will be expected to match France's intensity and aggression up front.
Captain Tevita Ikanivere will lead the forwards alongside Eroni Mawi, Luke Tagi, Mesake Vocevoce, Isoa Nasilasila, Pita-Gus Sowakula, Kitione Salawa and Hughes.
Meanwhile, the Flying Fijians have assembled an exciting backline featuring several players with experience in France's highly competitive Top 14 competition.
Simione Kuruvoli will start at halfback, partnering flyhalf Isikeli Rabitu, while Jiuta Wainiqolo, Vinaya Habosi, Iosefo Masi, Selestino Ravutaumada and fullback Salesi Rayasi complete the starting backline.
The Flying Fijians will also have experienced players coming off the bench, including Zuriel Togiatama, Peni Ravai, Inoke Ravuwasa, Peceli Yato, Elia Canakaivata, Frank Lomani, Ben Volavola and Sireli Maqala.
With a powerful forward pack and an explosive backline, the Flying Fijians will be determined to make their presence felt against France.
