Reservoir Road residents raise concerns over foul smell from wastewater
Residents living along Reservoir Road and in Walu Bay have raised concerns over a persistent foul smell they claim is coming from wastewater discharged from the Suva Corrections Centre.

The residents claim the smell has been causing health problems and affecting their lives, particularly when water around the Reservoir Road roundabout dries up, leaving the waste exposed.

They say they have been raising complaints with the relevant authorities for the past two years, however, their concerns have fallen on deaf ears, with no action taken to address the issue.

A fijivillage News team visited the site today, and found wastewater overflowing around the roundabout, with a strong foul smell coming from the area.

Residents are now calling on the relevant authorities to urgently investigate the matter and find a lasting solution to prevent further inconvenience and potential health risks.

fijivillage News has reached out to Fiji Roads Authority for a comment but is yet to receive a response.
