As the Hindu community in Fiji celebrates Dussehra, Minister for Multi Ethnic Affairs Charan Jeath Singh says the festival's timeless message reminds us of the importance of integrity, compassion and respect in our daily lives.
While wishing all Hindu devotees and their families on the occasion, Singh says Dussehra symbolises the triumph of good over evil, truth over falsehood and righteousness over wrongdoing.
He says in Fiji, our cultural and religious diversity is a source of strength.
The Minister says festivals such as Dussehra provide an opportunity to celebrate our heritage, strengthen friendships across communities, and reaffirm our shared commitment to unity in diversity and a socially cohesive Fiji.
Singh says as we celebrate, let us continue to embrace mutual respect, religious tolerance and understanding, ensuring that every community feels valued and respected in our multicultural nation.
