Parent raises concerns over children's safety with broken bottles and other paraphernalia litter Komo Park in Samabula

A concerned parent is raising concerns on the safety of children playing at Komo Park in Samabula which is littered with broken bottles and other paraphernalia.

Jason Singh says he has chased children away several times from the area where the broken bottles are lying around but they would usually return when he leaves.

He says his child who is a student at the nearby Samabula Primary School would usually play with his friends and other students at the park.

Singh is highlighting that there are broken bottles all over the place as well as smoking apparatus for marijuana that litter the ground.

He says that he has highlighted this issue several times with the Suva City Council but they have not taken any action in regards to his complaints.

Police Spokesperson Sergeant Wame Bautolu is calling on members of the communitiy to respect recreational areas such as parks.

Sergeant Bautolu says they will work with the Council to ensure that the facility is safe for everyone.

We have sought comments from SCC.
