Walter Leoru was the hero for Vantex Solutions Navua FC after scoring a hat-trick in their 3-0 victory over Pacific Heavy Industries Nadi FC in their opening FMF Inter-District Championship match at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
Leoru delivered an impressive performance to secure all three goals for Navua and give his side a strong start to their campaign.
Navua Head Coach Rodeck Singh praised Leoru's performance, saying the striker showed why the team continues to have confidence in him.
Singh says the victory was particularly pleasing as Navua had been affected by several injuries and player absences heading into the match.
He says the return of several players, including Bula FC players and key defenders, has strengthened the side.
Navua will now turn their attention to their next match against Ba, which Singh expects to be a fiery encounter.
He has called on Navua supporters to come out in numbers and back the team.
Nadi was reduced to 10 men after Shaheel Valentine received a red card.
