A resident of Low-Cost Bulileka is appealing to the Water Authority of Fiji to urgently address ongoing water supply problems, saying the situation is particularly challenging for him and his sister, who both have special needs.
While speaking to fijvillage News Freddie Lal says he is struggling to secure enough water for their household.
Lal says the water supply has been unreliable for quite some time, with water often reaching their area late at night.
He says his physical condition makes it difficult for him to stay awake late at night to collect and store water when supply is available.
Lal says the little water remaining in their drum will only last until today, leaving them worried about how they will manage tomorrow.
He also says his attempts to contact the Water Authority have been unsuccessful, as phone lines are often engaged or calls go unanswered.
Lal says other residents of Low-Cost Bulileka have also been experiencing water supply problems for a long time.
He is appealing to the Government and relevant authorities to urgently look into the issue and ensure affected households have a reliable water supply.
