59-year-old breast cancer survivor Mere Bogi is encouraging Fijians to undergo regular screenings after early detection helped save her life.
Bogi shared this during the handover of a $10,000 donation from Merchant Finance staff to the Fiji Cancer Society through the company's Pinktober fundraising campaign.

She says her breast cancer was detected after she attended a Fiji Cancer Society outreach programme last year, where she was encouraged to undergo further testing.
Bogi says she was referred for a scan, which led to the early detection of her cancer and enabled her to receive treatment, including surgery.
Bogi says early detection made a difference in her journey and is urging people to take their health seriously
Fiji Cancer Society Chief Executive Officer Belinda Chan says awareness, regular screening, HPV vaccination and early detection are critical in improving cancer outcomes and saving lives.
Chan says while breast cancer remains one of the most common cancers affecting women, cervical cancer is also having an impact in Fiji.
She says support from organisations such as Merchant Finance helps the Society continue educating communities and supporting people affected by cancer.
Merchant Finance General Manager Central Mitesh Kumar says the donation reflects the generosity and collective effort of staff who supported the Pinktober campaign.
Kumar thanked employees for their contributions and says the company is proud to support the Fiji Cancer Society's work in raising awareness and assisting those affected by cancer.
The $10,000 donation was officially handed over at Merchant Finance's head office at FHL Tower this morning.
