Violent protests are ongoing in France over conditions in schools and the rising cost of living.
In Paris, protesters clashed with riot police into the evening, prompting officers to use tear gas and water cannon to disperse crowds.
Several buildings were set on fire, including the 140-year-old town hall in Limoges, where a major blaze caused part of the roof to collapse.
Looting and widespread vandalism were also reported in several cities, with town halls and businesses among the properties targeted.
An estimated 550,000 people took to the streets on Saturday, with the French government describing the unrest as an escalation in violence.
The demonstrations have raised concerns over public safety as authorities respond to the unrest.
