Defence challenges admissibility of DNA report in RFMF armoury break-in case

The defence is challenging the admissibility of a DNA report in the case of Isaia Ledua, who is alleged to have attempted to break into the Republic of Fiji Military Forces armoury at Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua in April this year.

State lawyer Hezekiah Nofaga informed the court that the prosecution had submitted the proposed agreed facts, but had yet to receive a response from the defence.

Ledua's lawyer, Jerry Dinati did not appear in court as he is in Labasa.

Ledua is charged with one count of aggravated burglary and one count of damaging property.

It is alleged that between 8th and 9th April, Ledua attempted to break into the RFMF Ammunition Magazine building in Nabua and damaged the door lock keypad during the same period.
