The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side Cape Town 7s campaign has come to an end following their 29-21 loss to Argentina in the semi-finals.

Discipline proved costly for the Fijians as they gave away a lot of penalties to their opponent, and Argentina capitalised on those mistakes.

Argentina started strong with tries to Santiago Alvarez and Santiago Mare to help the Pumas lead 17-0 at half-time.

Luciano Gonzalez crossed over the try line in the 10th minute of the game to extend the Pumas’ lead to 22-0.

Fiji’s first try came in the 12th minute from Vuiviawa Naduvalo, but Argentina kept the pressure on Fiji and managed to come up with another try from Mare to put them out of reach.

Naduvalo scored his second try after full-time, but it was not enough to give Fiji the win.

Fiji will now take on France at 1.42am tomorrow in the 3rd place playoff, while Argentina will face hosts, South Africa, in the final at 2.43am tomorrow.
