NZ and South Africa bow out of Men’s Cup Quarter Finals

The Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side is through to the Cape Town 7s semi finals after defeating France 29-24 in the last quarter final.

Fiji started strong with two quick tries from Vuiviawa Naduvalo and Sevuloni Mocenacagi.

Naduvalo then crossed over the try line for his second try to give Fiji a 17-0 lead.

France fought back with two tries to trail 14-17 at halftime.

France came back firing in the second half scoring two tries to put them in a 24-17 lead.

Kaminieli Rasaku managed to break through the French defence to score a try in the final minutes of the match and put the game into sudden death.

Two French players were sin binned during sudden death giving Fiji the advantage.

Pilipo Bukayaro scored for Fiji to put them in the semi finals.

In other quarter final results, Argentina thrashed Canada 33-0, Ireland thumped New Zealand 36-21, and Australia beat South Africa 28-0.

In the semi finals, Argentina will face Ireland at 12.56am tomorrow, while Fiji will take on Australia at 1.18am tomorrow.

The final will be at 5.23am tomorrow.
