PC: Fiji Police Force

More than 8,000 plants believed to be marijuana have been uprooted from two farms in the Lea farming area in the Cakaudrove Province following an operation by the joint Northern Division Taskforce.

Police say the operation was conducted this week, with officers from the RFMF supporting the taskforce as they trekked through the farming terrain and discovered the two farms.

Meanwhile, Police drug operations have also resulted in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine and cash believed to be proceeds of crime in Laucala Beach.

Police say officers from the Police Dog Unit raided the home of a 39-year-old man, where several zip-lock bags containing white substances believed to be methamphetamine were seized.

Police also seized cash during the raid, which they suspect came from criminal activities.

Police say drug operations are continuing across the five policing divisions, with arrests being made for unlawful possession of illicit drugs and related offences, including proceeds of crime.
