The incoming FIJI Water Flying Fijians Head Coach will have full authority to select the squads for the upcoming Test against Japan and the Nations Championship.
Fiji Rugby Union General Manager High Performance Naca Cawanibuka confirmed this to fijivillage Sports.
Cawanibuka says the recruitment process for the new coach is expected to be finalised by the end of this week, with an announcement to be made early next week.
The Flying Fijians will march into camp next Monday to prepare for the Japan Rugby Football Union Centennial Celebration Test in Tokyo on 24th October.
Cawanibuka says European-based players will not be available for selection for the Japan Test as it falls outside the international Test window, but they will be available for the November Tests.
The FRU had earlier confirmed that it received 31 applications for the Head Coach position.
