The government has declared Fiji Day public holiday on Monday 12th October 2026 instead of tomorrow.
This has just been gazetted by the Fijian Government.
All the official celebrations for Fiji Day will continue tomorrow.
fijivillage News had earlier asked why a public holiday had not been allocated on a weekday to allow people to participate in celebrations and to promote patriotism, national pride and unity.
It was said that it was a norm to have the public holiday on Saturday if Fiji Day fell on that day.
