Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has crossed approximately FJ$11.7 million, at the box office in just two days.
The film was released on August 14 despite producer Vishesh Bhatt saying distributors initially showed no interest in buying it.
Bhatt says the filmmakers invested their own money into the project, with market interest growing only after the film was completed.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar, Awarapan 2 stars Emraan Hashmi, Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi and Suvinder Vicky.
The sequel follows the 2007 film Awarapan, which developed a strong following despite initially struggling at the box office.
