From being a dive instructor to now making natural sea salt that is being exported to different parts of the world, Fiji Sea Salt owner, Jone Waitaiti is living his dream after starting his own business during the COVID-19 period.

Waitaiti who had come from Taveuni for the Nanuku Resort Christmas Market, says he is from Vuna and Lavena, and his market extends from supermarkets and resorts here to places like Alaska, Germany, Switzerland, France, and Dubai.

He studied tourism and hospitality in Nasese and then went on to scuba diving but when tourism really got affected during COVID, he focused on his dream to make sea salt.

It took him 2 and half years to get the product right, and he now even makes flavoured salts.

Waitaiti is really excited as he has also received a $120,000 grant from the government, and he is ready to expand the business in Taveuni based on the huge demand.

Waitaiti stresses it is very beneficial to have sea salt as your body needs the minerals.
