Between 15,000 to 17,000 Fijians will be employed by the Fijian Elections Office for the next general elections.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says they have divided their recruitment program into three phases.

Saneem says the first phase opens tomorrow which is for those people who have worked with them during the last elections.

He says these people can go to their jobs portal and enter their details.

However Saneem adds there is no guarantee that everyone who has worked with them in the past will get a job this time.

He says everyone will go through a merit-based assessment criteria.

The second phase which begins in January next year will be for those who have not worked with the Elections Office in the past.

More details on this phase will be released soon.

The Presiding Officers will receive $420 on election day, Assistant Presiding Officers will be paid $250 while the Polling Day Workers will be paid $180.
