SODELPA Leader, Aseri Radrodro stresses that asthe Party Leader, like SODELPA MP, Viliame Gavoka, he is bound to the supreme authority of the party which is their general assembly and they had made their position clear during the party Special General Assembly.
While responding to Gavoka's comments that he is devastated by the party’s stance that they will not support the vote for the Constitution Amendment Bill and the SODELPA MPs have to vote against the Bill in the final reading in Parliament on Monday, Radrodro says he will encourage Gavoka to utilize his unique position being a member of the Special Committee and lobby them on the pertinent issues that is stopping SODELPA from supporting the Bill in its current form.
Radrodro says Gavoka could be helpful that way and SODELPA will be grateful for his input to enable SODELPA to deliver according to the wishes of its members and citizens of Fiji who have publicly shared similar sentiments.
He says this is a defining moment for Fiji that should unite us rather than divide or polarize us and SODELPA will always listen to the voices of the people.
Radrodro stresses this must not be an election promise exercise but must be one in which every citizen's voice is considered and our laws changed or improved and we all take ownership of it.
