Plans to make Air Pac staff redundant
The Transport Workers Union claims that close to 20 workers at Air Pacific are to be made redundant and they are now holding talks with Air Pacific management to ensure these workers do not lose their jobs.

General Secretary Kamlesh Kumar said the company is outsourcing its reservation sales functions and about 17 members of the union are to be made redundant.

According to Kumar, he has received information that outsourcing will begin on October 31st this year.

The Air Pacific Management is yet to comment on the matter.

Meanwhile, Kumar said he is still awaiting word from the Air Fiji Board on the future of the 170 airline workers and the company.
