2 suspected cases of Swine Flu travelled to Fiji

The National Swine Flu Taskforce has just revealed that they have been informed by their New Zealand counterparts that they have two suspected cases of Swine Flu that travelled to Fiji on the 26th of April.

Spokesperson Iliesa Tora revealed the first case has already returned to NZ while the second case is under surveillance at the Lautoka Hospital.

The second case is being monitored however have no symptoms of the disease and is expected to fly out of the country tomorrow morning.

The WHO has raised the alert of the swine flu to level 5, one short of a full blown global pandemic. Level 5 alert means human to human transmission in at least two countries.

The alert comes after a 23 month old Mexican child died in Texas the first death from swine flu outside Mexico where the outbreak originated.
