Climate change is not a problem for the future, but is a major issue for small island nations now.
These were the words of the President of Kiribati Anote Tong during a press conference on climate change today.
President Tong said that funds from the international community will be needed soon, if they are to have any effect on the future of small Pacific island.
President Tong added that the recent visit from the secretary of the United Nations to Kiribati and the upcoming Durban climate change conference will help bring international attention and assistance to the Pacific Islands problem with climate change.
