Police are looking for unknown people who broke into the Koronivia Research Station and stole more than $30,000 worth of marijuana that was kept there for analysis.
Assistant spokesperson Corporal Josaia Weicavu has confirmed that thieves broke into the office only to steal marijuana, as some other expensive items were left untouched.
The leaves were packed in 2 sacks and 2 pillowcases.
Corporal Weicavu said that these dried leaves could be sold on the streets.
An agricultural technical officer discovered that the leaves were missing yesterday.
Police are calling on for information.
