With the High Court, Appeals Court and Supreme Court judges yet to be appointed, a number of cases are pending in the courts.
A lawyer at Sherani and Company Hamendra Nagin said apart from criminal cases, many civil cases are pending.
These include probate cases where there are disputes over wills, medical negligence and compensation cases, human rights issues and discrimination, and a variety of complex commercial litigation.
Nagin told Radio Australia that they are not sure when these cases will go ahead.
Nagin said more Magistrates are also needed for cases to go ahead.
Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum had earlier told Fijivillage that the judges will be appointed in due course.
