Loan and Scholarship Scheme to be revamped - PM
Any Fijian who wants a tertiary education can get one.

That is the aim of the government as Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said he is currently looking at revamping the Loan and Scholarship Scheme.

Commodore Bainimarama said no Fijian student who gains university entrance will be prevented from taking up their place because they cannot afford it.

He said the right to education and the ambition to pursue it is not something that should depend on a family’s ability to pay tuition fees.

The Prime Minister said the Government believes that education should be readily available to all Fijians, wherever they live and whatever their circumstances.

Commodore Bainimarama said the government will help poorer students who previously could not fulfill their dream with the new $2.2 million Tertiary Education Loan Scheme.
