The Suva City Council has given the assurance that the pothole at Rodwell road beside Hot Bread Kitchen in Suva will be fixed by this afternoon.
The pothole has been causing traffic jams for some weeks, starting from the morning when people are coming to work in the capital city.
Rodwell Road is the main entry into Suva City and sometimes the traffic goes right up to Walu Bay and Edinburgh Drive.
Motorists are driving through the pothole slowly if they are lucky or dodging them and ending up in the other lane.
Fijivillage spoke to some motorists who raised concern on the road condition who say that this is one of the factors that contribute to road accidents and damaging vehicles which is costly for the drivers.
Special Administrator Chandu Umaria told Fijivillage that his workers were at Rodwell road this morning.
Umaria added there are a lot of potholes in Suva and that his workers will be out on the streets this weekend to fix the roads.
