FUTSAL team suffers setback

The National Futsal squad has suffered a setback after confirmation that Labasa team goalkeeper, Shamal Kumar will not be available to represent Fiji in the OFC Futsal Championship next month.

Kumar was to join the squad yesterday but Team Manager, Krishneel Sharma confirmed that Kumar is tied up with work commitments.

This now means that the Fiji Futsal team will go into the tournament without its top two choice goalkeepers as number one choice Simione Tamanisau has opted to represent Suva in the Digicel Cup competition and has not attended training.

Possible replacements for the goalkeepers position are Levi Tawake and Thomas Costa.

Meanwhile, the 15 member National Futsal team will be named this afternoon.
