“People should unite to joyfully celebrate the festival of Holi.”
This is according to the Sanatam Dharam Prathinidhi Sabha National secretary Vijendra Prakash as Hindus around the country celebrate Holi or what is commonly known as the festival of colors.
Most Hindus around the country will today begin the religious celebration with song and play with different colors.
Prakash said Fiji is a multi-cultural country and whatever festival is marked should allow people to come together to celebrate.
He said these festivals bring a lot of joy to those celebrating.
Meanwhile he said Hindu religious schools will be closed tomorrow for Holi.
