22,841 cases of violence against women and children were reported to the Fiji Police Force last year.
This is according to Senior Superintendent of Police Unaisi Vuniwaqa who revealed the stats during the Empowering Women to Wellness workshop.
Vuniwaqa said the Western Division recorded the highest with 7,583 cases, second was the Southern Division with 6,054, the Eastern Division recorded 3,371, the North had 3,254 while Totogo Police Station recorded 2,579 cases.
She added these cases include all forms of violence.
