Suva is expecting tough competition this Friday in the JR White Battle of the Capitals Weightlifting Challenge.
Coach Joe Vueti whose squad of lifters includes Louise Lolohea who won Gold at the Singapore Youth Olympic Games, said he has told his lifters that while many of them are from Levuka they are not to underestimate the young ones.
A total of 31 lifters from Levuka and Suva will be competing for the inaugural trophy.
This challenge is being used as a testing ground for the lifters ahead of the Pacific Games next year in New Caledonia.
The Battle of the Capitals Challenge will be held at the Hyundai Fitness Centre from 2pm to 7pm this Friday.
