“I am honoured to carry Fiji's hopes now and will try to do us proud at the Miss World Pageant in Mongolia.’
These were the words of First runner up to Miss World Fiji 2012 Koini Vakaloloma who replaces Torika Watters due to the controversy surrounding her selection.
16 year old Watters selection was a breach of the Miss World regulation rules, which states participants must be aged between 17 and 24 years.
Vakaloloma said it is really sad to see how things have turned out as Watters is a beautiful and intelligent individual who deserved to represent Fiji at the pageant.
She added that they will support Torika.
Watters released a statement saying she “was becoming very uncomfortable with the situation” citing “lies, deception, the lack of transparency and the lack of professionalism” as reasons for leaving Suva and going to Nadi.
Meanwhile Pageant Director Andhy Blake said Watters will attend the Pageant in Bali next year.
