The search for a father and daughter who were reported missing since Sunday has ended in tragedy as their bodies were discovered in Tunalia Nadi yesterday.

46-year-old Francis Deo and his 11-year-old daughter Samantha Deo left their 4 miles home in a taxi at 4pm Sunday to drop off a family friend at the Nadi International Airport and were supposed to stay at a relative's place in Tunalia on that night.

However, the two did not make it.

Following a three-day search the black taxi registration LT 3253 was discovered in the Tunalia river by some villagers.

A family friend, Jitendra Naicker told Fijivillage that the girl's body was discovered in the taxi while her father's body was discovered a few meters away.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro confirmed that they have retrieved two bodies and investigations continue.

Meanwhile, 17 year old Aaron Deo said he last spoke to his eleven year old sister on Sunday when she was leaving for Nadi.

Deo said his sister was a very kind hearted person and had told him that she will bring something for him.

He said his father lived his life like a king.
