FIA congress cancelled

The Fiji Police Force has cancelled the permit for the Fiji Institute of Accountants Annual Congress which was scheduled to start in Denarau tomorrow.

Deputy Director Police Operations SP Erami Raibe said the decision to cancel the permit was made yesterday.

SP Raibe said the decision was reached after taking into account the current situation of the country.

He refused to divulge any other information.

Earlier this week, the Fiji Institute of Accountants was told to submit the speeches of their key speakers before they are delivered this weekend.

480 delegates were expected to attend the annual conference which had the theme "Where To Fiji".
