Work on a helipad and installation of medical equipment is now underway at the new Navua Hospital.
Contractors Yanjian Group Company Limited Chief interpreter Eric Lee says so far 95 per cent of the interior structure has been completed.
Lee said work is progressing well with the commissioning expected in June this year.
He said the hospital mortuary is now completed and a water tower is being built to ensure the hospital is not affected by water shortage often faced by the area.
He added some of the equipment that have been donated to the hospital are X-ray machines, dental, maternity and operating theatre machinery.
Meanwhile the construction of the new Navua hospital is estimated to cost around $8million.
