New machinery to assist govt development programs
The Fiji Military Forces now has 24 pieces of new machinery worth $4.1 million which is expected to assist the government’s rural development programs.

Deputy Secretary Development Cooperation and Facilitation in the Prime Minister’s office Eliki Bomani said the construction and civil engineering equipment shipment comprises the Chinese government’s direct aid grant project.

He said there are a number of such projects like the Somosomo Hydro in Taveuni and the Navua hospital development.

He said the formal delivery of the equipment will be done next week.

The machines include excavators, dump trucks, bulldozers, vibratory rollers, a pneumatic roller, motor graders, wheel loaders, loader diggers, water trucks, pickups and trucks with cranes.

Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama will officially hand over the machinery to the RFMF engineers.
