The Nasolo 7s Tournament which was scheduled to kick off next week in Bua has been postponed after reports of a typhoid outbreak.
Committee member Ifereimi Toa Bale said the Health Ministry intervened and ask for the postponement because people would be indulging in yaqona drinking.
Health Ministry Spokesperson Prisilla Govind said they have taken the preventative measure and put a ban on all social gathering.
The Health Ministry reported 28 typhoid cases in Bua alone this year.
