The 48 teams that will be competing in the 44th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament have been confirmed.

Marist Rugby Club President, Lawrence Tikaram says most of the teams are from the rural and maritime islands and fans are sure to be entertained since they are championing grassroots rugby.

Tikaram says all teams have until the 6th of March to confirm their 15 players and 3 officials who will be attending the tournament.

He adds on the 18th of March they will have a briefing with team coaches and managers where they will be fully informed of the tournament rules and engagement platforms.

He says this will also be the final chance for coaches and managers to edit the final team list.

Tikaram says that it wasn’t an easy job to decrease the number of teams participating from 64 to 48 teams in the main competition and it is unfortunate that they had to turn away over 30 plus teams.

Some teams who have confirmed their registration are Marist, Ratu Filise, Police Blue and White, Tabadamu 1 and 2, Kavala Rugby and Nabouwalu Selection.

The 44th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s will be held from the 19th to the 21st of March at the ANZ Stadium.
