The Springboks have boosted their squad with the inclusion of loose forward Phepsi Buthelezi and prop Carlu Sadie ahead of their international season.
Buthelezi, who plays for the Sharks and made his Test debut against Portugal in 2024, will join the squad in Johannesburg, while France-based prop Sadie is expected to arrive on Wednesday.
The Springboks have also welcomed back players from the Stormers following their return from Ireland after their United Rugby Championship semifinal.
South Africa began on-field preparations on Monday ahead of their season-opening matches against the Barbarians and Zimbabwe A at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on June 20th.
Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus says there is a real sense of excitement within the squad as they prepare for the new season.
He believes the new additions will settle into the group quickly.
The Springboks are expected to name their squad on June 21st for the opening Nations Championship matches against England, Scotland and Wales.
