Verekauta Wins Oceania Grand Prix
Former Suva Grammar School's long distance runner Niko Verekauta won the men's overall title in the Oceania Athletics Association of Grand Prix in Cairns.

Verekauta received the highest points in the championship after winning the 200, 400 and the 4x400 metre relay with the help of teammate Iliesa Namosimalua.

He also won $971 as his prize for finishing top in the Oceania Grand Prix this season.

Verekauta was also one of the stars for Team Fiji in the Pacific Games where he collected a total of 4 gold medals from the 200, 400, 4x100 and 4x400 metre events.
