Niko honoured with award

Former Suva Grammar School sprinter, Niko Verekauta was honoured with a Recognition of Excellence Award at the Annual Recognition of Excellence Awards function in New Zealand yesterday.

Verekauta who won 3 gold medals at this year's Pacific Games in Samoa was recognised for his performance in winning the Belgium National Championships in the 400 meters in Brussels in August.

His coach Marlon Gavert was also presented with the award for his contribution to the athlete’s success during the year.
