People in the Tailevu South areas have every reason to smile after dredging of the Rewa River and other small rivers has already started this year.
Assistant Roko Tui Tailevu Joji Banuve said the works should prevent flooding and this should make traveling much easier.
Banuve did not revealed how much is spend by the government on the works carried out but said the Tailevu Provincial Office and the Commissioner Central’s Office are working together to see that developments is taking place in the province.
Banuve added most of this areas experience flooding during heavy rain making them difficult to excess to nearby villages and the urban centres.
